Our Cleaning Process |
|
In-Plant Rug Cleaning is recommended for Oriental Rugs and loose woven rugs. They should not be cleaned on location like wall to wall carpet. Magic Rug Cleaners cares for the finest to the most basic rugs from around the world. We will pick your rug up and bring it to our special cleaning plant where it will receive our very thorough Cleaning.
Dry Soil Removal: We use a variety of techniques to “dust” the rugs from the front and back to remove deep down allergens and loose dirt that works it's way down into the knots of your rug and that can not be removed with topical vacuuming.
Hand-wash: Most rugs are cleaned with an Oriental Rug Shampoo that is especially designed to get maximum cleaning while protecting sensitive natural fibers. Our shampoos and products comply with the New Zealand Wool Board of Performance Criteria.
Decontamination Bath: Rugs with severe odor and staining such as urine, mold, mildew, or insect infestations require decontamination.
Rinse: We use a constant flow of clean water to assure all dirt and contaminants are removed from your rug.
Dry: Once your rug is completely rinsed, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment for speed drying. Proper drying is essential to avoid unnatural shrinkage and possible discoloration from being wet too long.
Final Inspection: When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with a soft brush made for specialty rugs. We will give the rug a final inspection and release it for pick up or delivery. Upon delivery, we will lay the rug for you. (There may be an additional fee when moving furniture is required or pick-up and delivery require more than 1 person).
Repairs & Restoration: Fringe repair, replacement and removal, side cords, and re-weaving are available.
Padding: Walking on a rug lying on a very hard surface can cause breakage of the fibers. We also stock a two sided felt/rubber rug pad to protect the fine fibers and prolong the life of your rugs. |
